How To Name Documents When Sending To Others Through the Web

Today’s Tip: Please name your documents correctly before sending them to someone.

The reason I bring this up is because documents are sometimes named something totally bogus like, readXtf5j7.doc. This certainly means nothing to me and when I get a document like this, I must rename it so it does make sense and I can file it properly.

Another thing people do is name their documents with my name. For example, let’s say someone is sending me their biography or an information sheet. They always name it, info-for-susan.doc. This also must be renamed when I get it so it has your own name on it.

The same is true for photographs, video, audio, and Powerpoint docs. Sometimes people name their headshots, me in purple.jpg or self close up.jpg.

Remember to just name the document what it is and it will always be right.

Correct! Just name the document what it is and you will not go wrong. People may mistake your document if it isn’t named properly and it will just end up in trash. What a waste!
