Wanting to do our part (as President Obama has reminded us), we have always been attracted to organizations and green initiatives that will help our planet. We have donated our design work to various organizations, including the Hoboken 9/11 Memorial Committee, Hoboken Jubilee Center for Children, Central Avenue Special Improvement District (Jersey City Heights), Actors Shakespeare Company at New Jersey City University, Hudson Theatre Ensemble, Chameleon Theatre Company Ltd, Planet Cents, Eco Libris, Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Central and South Jersey), and Project SOAR.
Most recently in October 2011 I founded Broadcast Louder™. A creative, business savvy woman on a mission to help other creatives be as skilled in developing their brand and learning to market and promote it, as they are in their creations. I built 8 classes (Creativity + Abundance 1.0) on the most important aspects of running a business, from branding and building the right type of website and e-commerce, to knowing how to sell effectively and build a fan base in social media. The Fall season ran from November 1st through December 20th, 2011. This series is now available as download package. I have an expert join each class to enhance and offer the best content and instruction I can.We are joined by Todd Radom, Mark T. Smith, Julie Steelman, Gina Nieves, Ted Rubin, Payson Cooper, Denise Wakeman and Robyn Hatcher. Next year in 2012 we will create another series and add in new topics. Coming soon for Spring and Fall is the 2012 line-up!
In April 2009, with Mary Jo Rhodes, author of nature books, we created FROGS ARE GREEN LLC, to increase awareness about the massive worldwide amphibian decline (up to one-third of species are threatened with extinction). Because frogs are an indicator species of a healthy environment, we also hope to spread the message that healthy frogs mean a healthy planet for all.
This year we accepted entries for our 2nd annual contests, both photo contests for frogs in the wild and backyard frogs, (65+) and our kids’ art contest which received a whopping 520 entries from 20+ countries all over the world! We are so thrilled from the notes we received from teachers everywhere how it inspired children to want to learn more about frogs. Just wait till next year!
