How long has your company been in business? Please tell us a bit about your company, its mission, goals…

I have been in business since 2006 when I designed and promoted from the ground up a plus size lingerie shop for women online before selling it as a fully functional business. Based on the success of that website and similar endeavors, I moved my focus onto consulting and now as a Business Strategist. I specialize in plugging the leaks in businesses by setting up and maintaining the proper systems in order to generate more profits quickly.

Do you donate to charities? Tell us about that also and why.

No, not at this time.

How did you know what typeface (font) would be right for your company wordmark or logo? If your logo has an illustration, describe why that art was the right thing, animal, place, object, etc…

My brand is my name, Kim Beckers and my mantra is Getting the Right Stuff Done! There is a lot of hype out there and so many things that you could be doing to grow and leverage your business but my goal is to focus on the stuff that matters, the right stuff.

How did you decide on the right color palette to fit your company look and feel?

I choose colors that felt warm, inviting and calming.

How did you decide which type of designer to work with, or did you design your own identity and web presence?

I choose my graphic designer based on the recommendation of a business coach, I had seen her work and loved it, so I decided to give her a try.

In what order did you present your company to the world? Did you start with marketing and products, or website, blog and social media?

I launched my first brand website and blog a few years ago, in fact before Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn were mainstream. Once Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn started to gain some traction, I quickly jumped on the bandwagon and never looked back.

How long after the launch of your company did you start pitching in social media?

Like I said above, when I first launched my website social media sites weren’t around, I really got into social media sites a few years back when I noticed all the attention they were getting, now I can’t imagine not having a social media presence.

Did you do research or study any software, take webinars, teleclasses, before approaching any area of your marketing or web presence?

When I first launched my lingerie site back in 2006 I had taken a lot of formal training regarding marketing and web presence. I have a degree in Computer Science so technology is my friend. Over the years of have taken many online courses, in person courses, teleclasses, webinars, workshops, etc. I enjoy learning new tools and techniques and consider knowledge to be the greatest gifts we can give ourselves.

Do you advertise locally in newspapers and/or nationally in magazines? Are they effective?

No, I do not do any print advertising.

Do you advertise online using Google, Facebook or on other company sites? Are they effective?

When I owned my lingerie business I did Pay Per Click advertising with Google, MSN (now Bing) and Yahoo. It was very effective in driving traffic to my website. I have used Facebook advertising with several of my clients over the years quiet effectively.

Which social media site to spend the most time on and how does it help marketing your business?

I spend the majority of my social media time on Facebook , networking and developing relationships with my target market, and influencers.  Social media helps to build my brand awareness and puts me top of mind to my target market and strategic partners.

Do you belong to community sharing websites? Which ones and how effective are they in building your audience? What are the best features that help your business?

This is new to me. I just recently joined an amazing network of women entrepreneurs called Savor the Success. I have found the community to be inspiring and uplifting. I recently reached out to potential JV partners on the site and received a great response. I am looking forward to seeing what unfolds.

When you printed your products, packaging, business cards and other print marketing did you choose an online printer or visit a local vendor?

I used an online printer for ease of ordering.

Have you ever used “green” technology in printing, using FSC certified papers or recycled paper and if not, how likely are you at trying this on a next project?

I have not used “green” technology for printing but I would certainly be interested in learning more about this process.

What is coming up in the next year or two we should watch for?

As I am in the process of upleveling myself and my business. I have been dealing with a lot of stuff that has come up for me related to my past. I have and continue to breakthrough my past traumas and taking back my power. I am on a mission to help women all over the world to take back their power, make more money and make a difference!

Is there anything you haven’t yet tackled, but will want to do soon?

I want to change the world, I want to teach women to live in their power and make a difference in the world.
