Facebook Welcome Pages Are A Great Way To Advertise Your Business

By Susan December 10, 2010 Blog, marketing 1 Comment

250+ Million Daily Users

With over 250 million daily users, if your company doesn’t have a Facebook page yet, it’s time to get one. Once you have a personal profile, and you can only have one, you can set up assorted company or other types of pages. The latest statistics show that more people search on Facebook than Google.

You can name your company page “Company Inc” or it can use a tag line, like I have, “Branding YOU Better.” So far I have three different company pages and one cause page in addition to my personal profile.

Why This is a Great Way to Advertise

Someone has put in a search query for baby clothes, design or bakeries and it will show all the Facebook results. They are scanning the different pages and choose one. If that company has a Welcome page (app using iFrames) set up, the advertisement can speak directly to this new visitor and tell them about their company and why they should “like” it. Once they like the company they move on to read your posts & info, view your gallery pages or other special pages.

You can also create a special landing page on your website or blog and set the welcome graphic as a link to go to that page. Setting it up for Facebook users where you are offering them something special, that the public doesn’t know about. So your graphic not only is speaking directly to them, but is offering them a discount or special download. You can also create a more complicated multiple page loading a questionnaire or test to have some fun.

How to Attract People Without Them Searching For You

So you have created a company page and now you want to attract new potential customers or clients. I suggest starting a Facebook ad campaign which is an inexpensive way to drive people to your new Facebook page. This little ad can be a modest budget of $1-2 a day or you can spend more. You can create a few different ads and review the stats a few days or a week later to see which ads are working and which aren’t. You can pause an ad and start a new one.

Below I show a few of my welcome Facebook pages and a sample ad. I also recommend reading this great link to the article titled, The “Like” Economy: Major Retailers Offer Holiday Deals on Social Networks” by Ian Paul over at PCWorld.

Here are a few more Welcome pages on Facebook I’ve just created:
