Baseball Brand Disconnect: Ban the Chew
If the MLB is a supporter of organizations like Stand Up To Cancer and other cancer support organizations, why won’t they ban chewing tobacco? Especially when the MLB dedicates the 1st game of the World Series 2012 to Stand Up to Cancer! This issue is a “brand disconnect.” How can you show players working with children who are battling cancer and then those same children and millions of others watch players chew and spit during the games?
It’s a disgusting habit that should not be allowed while tv cameras are on the players and so close-up we can see the tobacco in their teeth.
I say if the MLB wants us to take them seriously about caring about and supporting these important cancer organizations, they need to BAN THE CHEW Now!
