Brand Disconnect at the Local Produce Market
So I just headed over to my local produce market to get some healthy fruit and what do I see? They’ve put up a large display case between the register and the window (yeah so people will see it as they go by…) of assorted bags of chips.
What gives? So I say to the owner, “how can you display those chips in here along with all this healthy food?”
He just laughs, and the woman in front of me on line says, “Yup, all we need, salad and chips.”
This is a perfect example of a brand disconnect. If a local grocery sells chips, that’s right on target, but a fruit and vegetable store?
And, I know what you’re thinking… no, I didn’t buy any.

Now, that was a real surprise. It was really a brand disconnect. Sends mixed messages to customers as well.
I know, I sure was surprised. Thanks for your comment Lynne.
